You know the mom. She compliments your kid's lunch box while texting the group chat about you. Here's how to spot the nasty nice moms, and what to do when you realize you've been played.
I started This Mom Right Here because I was tired of the curated version of motherhood. I wanted a space for the truth, the potty training disasters, the kindergarten tears, the mean mom at pickup who acts like she's your best friend.
If you've ever ugly-cried in a school parking lot or wondered why making mom friends feels harder than dating, you're in the right place.
More About MeQuick, simple, and kid-approved.

I'm a mom, a writer, a coffee enthusiast, and the woman behind This Mom Right Here. I started this blog because I craved a space that felt real, not the highlight reel, not the perfectly styled flat-lay. Just the honest, messy, wonderful truth of raising tiny humans and navigating the wild social landscape of modern motherhood.
I live in the suburbs with my family, and most of my days are a blur of school runs, snack requests, potty training standoffs, and trying to figure out which mom at pickup actually likes me and which one is gathering intel for the group chat.
Here you'll find posts about the real stages of raising kids, from potty training nightmares through middle school. I also write about making (and losing) mom friends, surviving school gossip, and learning to spot the moms who are sweet to your face and savage behind your back.
I believe in honesty over perfection, real friends over fake ones, and giving yourself the same grace you'd give your best friend.
Real products I actually use and genuinely love. Affiliate links help support this blog at no extra cost to you. Thank you!
The novels that kept me up past bedtime, made me ugly-cry on the couch, and reminded me why I love reading. These are my personal favorites.
Ashley Blake
The Hunter Family Book 1. The book that started it all. Sarah and Joshua's story is steamy, suspenseful, and impossible to put down. If you love billionaire romance, start here.

Two billionaires. One woman. A love triangle that will keep you guessing. This one is spicy, emotional, and completely addictive.

I sobbed through the last hundred pages. A story about redemption, motherhood, and fighting for a second chance. One of CoHo's best.
Shop on AmazonColleen Hoover
Dark, twisted, and absolutely unputdownable. This psychological thriller will mess with your head in the best way. Not for the faint of heart.
Shop on AmazonEmily Greene
A cozy mystery with cupcakes and murder? Say less. This is the perfect light read when you need something fun and easy.

Twists on top of twists on top of twists. I thought I had it figured out three times and was wrong every time. A wild, addictive thriller.
Shop on AmazonKristin Hannah
A stunning WWII novel about two sisters, courage, and survival. I cried so hard my husband asked if someone died. (I mean... kind of.) Absolutely beautiful.
Shop on AmazonMy morning survival kit. I do not function without coffee, and I am very particular about my mug.
The mom tumbler. Keeps coffee hot for hours, fits in the car cup holder, and comes in every color. I own three and regret nothing.
Shop on AmazonKeeps your coffee at the perfect temperature. Because reheating the same cup four times before noon is a lifestyle I am trying to leave behind.
Shop on AmazonSmall enough for any counter, fast enough for a school morning. One cup at a time, which is honestly how I take life right now.
Shop on AmazonEvery mom needs at least one mug that speaks the truth. This one sits on my desk and reminds me of my priorities.
Shop on AmazonThe espresso machine that replaced my daily Starbucks habit. Built-in grinder, steam wand for lattes, and it pays for itself in about two months of skipped drive-throughs. Professional-quality espresso at home.
Shop on AmazonOne-touch coffee or espresso in under a minute. When the baby is screaming and you have four minutes before the school bus arrives, this machine understands the assignment.
Shop on AmazonFresh-ground coffee changes everything. Sixty grind settings so you can dial it in for drip, pour-over, French press, or espresso. Once you grind fresh, you never go back.
Shop on AmazonThe gold standard of drip coffee makers. Brews a perfect pot in about six minutes. Yes, it is an investment. Yes, you will taste the difference immediately. This is the one coffee snobs swear by.
Shop on AmazonIf you want the full coffee shop experience at home, this is it. Dual heating system, smart tamping station, and a latte art steam wand. It is gorgeous on the counter too. This is the splurge that keeps on giving.
Shop on AmazonThe tools that make weeknight dinners possible when you have zero energy and twenty minutes.
Pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, and more. This thing has saved dinner in our house more times than I can count.
Shop on AmazonPre-seasoned, indestructible, and makes everything taste better. If I could only keep one pan, this would be it.
Shop on AmazonNon-slip, dishwasher safe, color-coded so you do not accidentally cut fruit on the chicken board. Small things that make a big difference.
Shop on AmazonEvery sheet pan dinner in this blog was made on these. Heavy-duty, no warping, and the secret to easy weeknight meals.
Shop on AmazonThe kitchen workhorse. Cookies, bread, pizza dough, shredded chicken. Mine has been running for eight years and shows no signs of slowing down. Worth every penny and it looks beautiful on the counter.
Shop on AmazonSoups, stews, braised meats, baking bread. This is the pot you hand down to your kids. Heavy, beautiful, and it makes everything taste like you cooked all day even when you did not.
Shop on AmazonThe blender that turns anything into a smoothie in thirty seconds. Also does soups, sauces, nut butter, and frozen desserts. It is loud enough to wake the dead but powerful enough to justify the noise.
Shop on AmazonProfessional-grade pans that heat evenly, last forever, and go from stovetop to oven. I upgraded from a cheap set five years ago and the difference in my cooking was immediate. You really do get what you pay for.
Shop on AmazonThis changed our summer dinners completely. Smoke, grill, bake, roast, and braise with real wood-fired flavor. My husband says it is his favorite thing we own. I say it is my favorite thing because he does all the cooking when he uses it.
Shop on AmazonToys, gear, and the random finds that have saved my sanity on more than one occasion.
Leak-proof, five compartments, and my kid can actually open it himself. That last part is more important than you think.
Shop on AmazonA screen-free audio player for kids. Stories, music, and podcasts on little cards they can swap themselves. Our favorite alternative to screen time.
Shop on AmazonMess-free coloring that uses only water. I keep these in my bag for restaurants, waiting rooms, and any situation where I need ten minutes of quiet.
Shop on AmazonThe toy that gets used every single day. A play couch, a fort, a crash pad, a reading nook. Worth every penny and then some.
Shop on AmazonFor road trips, educational apps, and the occasional sanity-saving movie on a long flight. We use parental controls and screen time limits. It is a tool, not a babysitter. (Okay, sometimes it is a babysitter.)
Shop on AmazonGPS tracking, calling, and texting without the internet, social media, or apps. The peace of mind of knowing where your kid is without handing them a smartphone. This was a game changer for us when my oldest started walking to school.
Shop on AmazonBeautiful building sets that older kids and parents can do together. The flower bouquet sits on my bookshelf and looks stunning. Screen-free, creative, and genuinely relaxing. Family building night is now a thing in our house.
Shop on AmazonThe toy that gets my kids outside without a fight. Up to 10 mph, about 40 minutes of ride time per charge. Every kid on our block has one and they ride together for hours. Best outdoor investment we have made.
Shop on AmazonThe backyard toy that replaced the playground. My kids climb, hang, flip, and play on this thing for hours. It holds up to 600 lbs so adults can climb too (I have tested this, for science). Durable, fun, and worth the space it takes up.
